The successful candidate for this role will be based out of their office in Loughton with an opportunity of hybrid working after a period of time. The ideal candidate may be a school leaver starting out on their career and enjoys math, analysis, working with excel and values being part of a team. It will also suit someone with a passion for renewables and smart technology and is enthused about helping us work towards net zero.
Responsible for ensuring that the Renewables/Smart Tech Department provides a service to our clients with our company objectives at the forefront. As Trainee the successful candidate will assist with the production of quotes, with progression through the department in all areas of renewable energy and smart technology. After Training your key activities will be as follows:
- Assist with the design and development of renewable/smart tech quotes.
- Liaise clients and subcontractors.
- Work as part of a team whilst at the same time work unsupervised, prioritising workload through effective communication with all the renewable/smart tech team.
- Ensure that all enquires dispatched to the supply chain are fully comprehensive in respect of technical and contractual information.
- Technically and commercially appraise all renewable/smart tech quotations on receipt.
- Work closely with the Buying Department and the respective operations teams at tender stage, handover and throughout the planning stages of each successful project.
- Participate in the design development to assess buildability, materials, innovation and cost effectiveness of proposals.
- Preparation of analytical estimates for renewable/smart tech works, that are technically accurate and with an acceptable risk level, from outline drawings and specifications.
- Provide high level pricing information early in the Tender for optioneering and budgeting exercises to ensure the most cost-effective solution offered.
- Ensure procedures, including risk and governance processes, are followed, documented and correct authorisations are in place.
- Contribute to the preparation of Tender Preparation and Tender Construction programmes.
- Prepare a staff schedule for the Tender, using feedback from successful contracts and collaborating with other functions
- Participate in the preparation of a procurement plan with the central/regional buyers to agree suppliers & sub-contractors, terms & conditions and discount levels.
- Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations for renewable/smart tech engineering resources, particularly materials and sub-contractors. Obtain completed construction and design questionnaires where appropriate.
- Maintain an up to date awareness and knowledge of Technical developments and new methods within the Industry.
- Prepare financial models for framework submissions, including setting appropriate staff rates.
- Production of high quality estimates on large scale projects with a high attention to detail.

Salary: £18,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
