Are you a highly engaged and creative individual who loves working with clients and has a passion for designing and estimating residential projects? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic and growing renovations company in Ottawa, Ontario.

At To Do Done Renovations, we take pride in our work and value our clients. As an experienced Residential Designer/Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our company's growth and transformation. We started as a small projects company and have now expanded into larger renovations and full house guts. Our vision is to become a design/build firm while maintaining our small projects division. We believe in fostering a culture of creativity, trust, and hard work.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit clients' homes to understand their renovation needs, preferences, and budgetary requirements.
  • Create detailed floor plans and full designs for basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and other residential projects, incorporating the client's vision and practical considerations.
  • Utilize your strong design skills to conceptualize innovative and aesthetically pleasing spaces that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Estimate project costs accurately and efficiently, utilizing your expertise in the residential construction industry.
  • Source high-quality products and materials that align with the project's design and budget.
  • Collaborate with architects or architectural technologists to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into construction plans.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Estimating, Excel, scheduling, and other Construction Management software effectively to streamline project workflows.
  • Demonstrate exceptional sales skills by effectively communicating the value of our services to clients.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle, building strong client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Designer and Estimator in the residential construction industry.
  • Strong design skills and a demonstrated ability to create functional and visually appealing spaces.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Estimating, Excel, and other Construction Management software.
  • Excellent sales skills with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with clients.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to estimate project costs accurately.
  • Familiarity with sourcing high-quality products and materials within budget constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with project managers, carpenters, architects or architectural technologists.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in terms of work timing and location, with approximately 20 hours per week in the office and the remaining 20 hours at clients' homes or working remotely.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. This includes a combination of base salary and commission, as well as extended medical and dental benefits, Group RRSP top-ups, and paid team building days.
