Job description
Farmers Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for an individual who is looking for a career in field engineering. The position of Construction Engineering Aid requires a high level of problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. As a Construction Engineering Aid you will apply field engineering methods to assist in the layout and design of overhead and underground distribution power lines, prepare staking sheets/sketches for construction, and/or Right of Way projects.
This position requires an Associate Degree in related field or High School Diploma with working experience and knowledge in staking/sketching/designing for an electrical distribution/transmission utility or related field. Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in working with Microsoft Software: (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design, surveying instruments, and post-secondary courses in algebra, trigonometry and geometry are highly desired.
This Engineering Aid position earns a competitive salary based on experience. This position typically works Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional overtime and travel less than 10% of the time.
