Professional Indemnity Lawyer (Construction Focus) - Associate/Principal Associate 5+years PQE, Salary up to £87K DOE, Manchester
We are looking to recruit an Associate or Principal Associate 5 YEARS + PQE to join a Top 50 UK Law firm. We are looking for a professional indemnity lawyer, with a focus on construction to join a specialty team to undertake a broad range of substantial, challenging, largely contentious work.
Main duties and responsibilities
Proactive management of cases with limited supervision
Assisting the partners with their caseloads
Preparing detailed and technical reports, correspondence and court documents
Advising clients in relation to issues of liability and coverage
Liaising with insurer and insured clients, experts, witnesses, counsel and other parties
Ensuring compliance with client service level agreements, relevant policies and procedures
Supporting business development initiatives
About You
At least 5 years’ PQE or equivalent
Experience of insurance litigation and policy coverage analysis is essential
Experience of professional risk claims relating to construction disputes is essential
Experience of professional risk claims in other areas is highly desirable
Must understand commercial insurance policies, the insurance market, reporting arrangements, reserving philosophies, and the relationship between brokers, underwriters/insurers and lawyers
Previous secondment to or employment with an insurance organisation would be advantageous
