We are an architecturally focused building envelope consulting firm based out of Seattle Washington. We provide the needed construction documents (drawings, specifications) and construction administration (including site inspections) for a wide range of new and existing construction projects. We have developed a practical and effective approach to ensuring the durability and sustainability of building design. We practice in Washington State, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and California.

About the Position
This position requires a person with the ability to work remotely and travel to our numerous projects during various stages of construction mainly in the greater Bay Area. This position requires someone that can work independently and able to work out of a home office space. This will be a hybrid role, with a mix of site observations and responding to RFI & Submittals.
Job Responsibilities
- Representing our firm in the field and interacting with contractors, clients, code officials in a respectful and professional manner.
- Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, manufacturers installation instruction, RFI’s and submittals for projects you have been assigned.
- Traveling to construction projects on a daily basis predominately in the Bay Area with occasional travel to Sacramento.
- Performing site inspections and provide accurate details of the events of building envelope system(s) including but not limited to: below-grade waterproofing, podium deck waterproofing, weather resistive barrier(s), windows/doors, roofing, window testing etc.
- Producing technical reports outlining daily construction activities observed onsite, compliance of the system to the drawings and specifications including photographs with annotations within specified deadlines. This position requires someone with a strong understanding of basic grammar, editing and typing (Microsoft Word).
- Observing field testing of windows, doors, waterproofing, etc.
- Using Bluebeam to produce redlines on drawings to accompany our reports.
- Attending preconstruction meetings, documenting what was discussed and providing meeting minutes.
- Must be able to comfortably navigate construction sites, have reliable transportation, and clearly communicate with construction personnel.
- Climbing scaffolding, ladders, stairs towers as needed to access work areas.
- Reporting back to senior managers on a daily basis to update the status of the construction.
· Identifying mistakes on submittals from the client or contractor and advising ways to resolve the error. Always reporting to the respective Project Manager in this case to verify remarks are accurate and valid.
Additional responsibilities include:
o Each site observation will require technical pictures and text report.
o Required to schedule their site visits with the project teams.
o Internally schedule and coordinate our testing teams as needed.
o Must be comfortable working from heights, climb ladders and lift 50lbs
Qualifications
- Preferred degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, construction management, or building science
- Minimum of 4 years related work experience.
- Successful candidates will have a strong command of grammar, Microsoft Word (and suite) with the ability to efficiently proofread and edit reports.
- Existing internet with a download speed of over 100 MB for downloading of reports, drawings, etc. Basic internet with the lower end speeds will not work for this position as you will be up and downloading lots of data.
- The ability to read and understand construction documents, including drawings, specifications, industry standards, manufacturers installation instructions.
· Ability to use Bluebeam to mark-up drawings to locate action items, areas inspected, etc.
· Ability to set up a basic spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel.
· Must live within 15 miles of the general Bay Area
· Reliable Vehicle & Current Driver’s License
Reports to: Sr. Associate, Construction Division and Vice President
Target Billing Percentage: 90%

- Successful ability to keep current on field reports within the turnaround time, miscellaneous administrative duties (timesheet and expense tracking) and good attendance
