John Crane Asset Management Solutions (JCAMS) is the John Crane Centre of Excellence for Maintenance Consultancy and Condition Monitoring.
This role will support both Maintenance & Condition Monitoring departments to ensure that all engineering aspects of the project scope of services are completed to a technical standard that is acceptable to the client.
John Crane is committed to the development of its Engineers, through provision of training and support to achieve Chartered status.
To assist you we will provide the following:
- A Chartered Engineer Mentor will be assigned to help you with C.Eng.
- A training program will be agreed and provided through internal and external means.
- You will be given regular positive and constructive feedback on your performance.
- Your development is supported by an experienced and varied team of professional engineers.
- We actively encourage our engineers to work with our clients internationally and offshore.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for own Professional Development, with the goal of competently fulfilling the responsibilities of an Engineer including:
- Seeking support when required.
- Participation in relevant training.
- Working toward chartered status.
To aid your development you will be assigned to different roles and be expected to undertake a range of duties.
Maintenance:
- Confirm and validate Master Equipment List (MEL) from P&IDs, PFDs and single line drawings
- Structure the MEL into maintainable packages
- Classification of all equipment items contained within the MEL
- Support to maintenance strategy analysis (Failure Modes and Effects analysis, RCM, criticality, etc.) using JCAMS proprietary software
- Support development of maintenance strategy to support the asset
- Support development of Planned Maintenance Routines for core discipline
- Assist with construction of planned maintenance program
- Support with project spares analysis for core discipline
- Work within the requirements of the Integrated Management System.
Condition Monitoring:
- Increasingly taking responsibility for managing a CM programme, in line with your development
- Collecting routine CM data such as vibration data or lube oil samples
- Conducting onshore analysis of routine vibration data.
- Reporting Vibration and Oil Analysis results and associated corrective maintenance recommendations under the guidance of the CM team leader.
- Conducting routine Condition Monitoring surveys at our clients’ premises on and offshore.
- Conducting Pump Performance Testing and Reporting.
- Supporting/Conducting advanced machinery diagnostics on your designated assets.
- Acting as the client interface for the onsite delivery of Condition Monitoring services.
- Continuously improving the effectiveness of condition monitoring programmes, through defined review process under the guidance of the CM Team Leader.
- Mentoring of clients in basic Condition Monitoring techniques.
- Ensure the strict adherence to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental management systems across the business.

The Individual
- Recognised engineering qualification or extensive practical maintenance experience
- Understanding of maintenance management systems
- Appreciation of reliability engineering techniques
- Ability to review equipment manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations and challenge where appropriate
- Good understanding of oil and gas industry equipmentommercial awareness.
- Organisational ability.
- Understanding of relevant engineering principles (from degree or equivalent experience).
- Appreciation of Condition Monitoring techniques and purpose.
- Well developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a team working environment.
