We work with cross-functional teams across several external collaborations and CRO’s. This a great opportunity for a lab scientist to use prior training to manage a large library of compounds using an array of automation and instrumentation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn new skills in logistics, advanced robotics and collaborative working and contribute directly to drug discovery in a fast paced and challenging environment.

For a part-time position, the candidate in this lab-based role should have prior experience working within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry as the employee would be expected to already understand the drug discovery process and the supporting function of Compound Management within Drug Discovery, therefore less likely to require significant supervision/training. The employee must be driven, resourceful and able to work independently and display scientific diligence. The Compound Management & Logistics team are excellently organised in their management of data across internal and external collaborations, therefore a candidate must display an excellent attention to detail. The candidate will contribute to regular team meetings to understand new project goals and aid in weekly scheduling. Teamwork and excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical

- Generate assay-ready plates for Medium Throughput Screening & Phenotypic Target Identification campaigns using Inventory Software and electronic lab notebooks
- Create compound plates for weekly compound profiling assays
- Generate HPLC/LCMS/ADME plates for QC and work with the Analytical team to generate new assay protocols where required.
- Prepare shipping manifests and documentation for domestic and internal shipments
- Run to established protocols and develop new methods for liquid handlers, barcode readers and other automation.
- Identify new automation/software that can facilitate the Compound Management workflow
- Work closely with Informatics to implement new workflows to improve Compound Management cycle times and streamline the process
