Responsibilities:
- Working in collaboration with the Visual Effects Supervisor and other leads to evaluate the creative and technical approach to assigned shots
- Giving briefs and direction to the team with the aid of the VFX Supervisors to ensure the appropriate execution of shots
- Problem solving with the team to achieve shots within timeframe and budget.
- Training and mentoring of more junior artists
- Integrating 2D, 3D and live action elements to high-end visual effects tv/film standard
- Meeting schedules and show deadlines
- Ongoing communication with Production and the team regarding schedules and deadlines
- Balancing the creative and technical aspects of each shot
- Working with a good knowledge of colour space principles
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years VFX industry experience
- An expert in Nuke / Nuke X
- Have proven experience with chroma screen extraction and integration, seamless integration of live action and CGI sources and fx design and implementation
- Be able to take part in client reviews
- Be able to follow production methodologies, develop creative approaches and problem solve
- Confidently perform setup tasks for a small team
- Have a critical eye for detail
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to multitask, prioritise and problem solve
- An understanding of colour space principles
- A working knowledge of the overall VFX pipeline
- An education or interest in real world lighting and photography
