Compliance Risk Oversight - Laws, Rules, and Regulations mapping
Glasgow

As a Barclays Compliance Risk Oversight – Laws, Rules, and Regulations mapping Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to support the Head of Compliance Risk Oversight with testing and overseeing the mapping of laws, rules, and regulations in line with Policies and Standards. This is a key role to assist with the mapping of Conduct related laws, rules, and regulations and to consider, and implement, any changes to the existing control taxonomy and framework.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality, and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally can request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Helping the Compliance Risk Oversight Team with defining a testing methodology
  • Identifying and ensuring the effective mapping of Laws, Rules, and Regulations in line with the Compliance Risk Management Control Objectives
  • Leading the Compliance Risk Oversight Team, responsible for supporting Barclays approach to managing Laws, Rules, and Regulations applicable to the firm
  • Participating in the mapping of Laws, Rules, and Regulations relevant to existing Conduct Policies and Standards
  • Working effectively and with credibility with a broad range of stakeholders, predominately senior VP and above
  • Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Barclays Policies
  • Working through problems independently, taking ownership of your decision, adapting to changes in approach and timelines

What we’re looking for:
• Experience working in a financial services organisation
  • Extensive experience and understanding of Global Laws, Rules, and Regulation with re-spect to the Financial Services Sector
  • Excellent Experience working in Legal, Compliance or a similar Controls Function with vast check and challenge capabilities
  • Proficient understanding in Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel and experience taking minutes, tracking actions, coordinating meetings and forums

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience and understanding working at Barclays and knowledge of the Barclays Risk and Controls Frameworks and Systems
  • Proven experience working independently and engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience working in a fast paced and high-profile transformational program in-cluding proven stakeholder management skills
