Job Title: Transport Compliance Manager

The Transport Compliance Manager will be responsible for carrying out monthly Legal/Policy audit Manchester depot and Hub have separate audits, managing a diverse team of drivers in relation to compliance and ensuring weight distribution and ensure load restraint are checks are carried out and documented daily. They will be responsible for managing/investigating accidents/incidents, download CCTV footage when needed .

Core Duties:

  • Minimum 6 months planned maintenance on display (LWC Maintenance planner)
  • Ensure vehicles are presented for PMI (safety inspections) on time, all HGV’s strict 42 days, LGV’s 84 days, make sure PMI paperwork is returned promptly, checked and filed
  • Ensure all legally required inspections (MOT, Tacho, LOLER, RFL, are planned in advance and documents returned, checked and filed promptly
  • Update white board (this is used as a reminder for inspections and repairs)
  • Carryout monthly compliance checks ( drivers in possession of cards/documents, cab inspections, camera inspections
  • Ensure company defect/vehicle pre check policy is being followed at all times
  • Ensure defects are repaired promptly, manage repairs, breakdowns, hire vehicles
  • Carryout quality control checks
  • Monitor alerts from licence bureau, ensure all new/agency drivers complete on line licence checks, driving licence mandates are completed
  • Monitor DCPC periodic training enter information on Vision and book training courses as required
  • Monitor, Debrief, Manage driver EU and Working Time infringements, carry out or arrange training as needed
  • Monitor company van use
  • Monitor FTA vision for Tachograph miss-use, vehicle and driver card downloads
  • Maintain company image (ensure vehicles are cleaned/washed in line with company policy
  • Arrange/monitor monthly tyre inspections
  • Manage MMW create new drivers/new vehicles, check for updates make sure there being used for daily walk round checks
  • Be compliant in all aspects
  • Driver interaction
