We have opportunities for two people to join our Health & Safety team as a Compliance Officer on a temporary basis. The location of the role is flexible with homeworking where possible, but no 2 days will be the same. You could be at a Care home looking at manual handling in Pembroke one day, checking out asbestos management plans in Cardiff the next, and looking at a high rise construction project in Aberavon another day.

  • The salary for is £36,681 for 2 x 37 hour full time, temp positions until end of Dec 2023. We are happy to be flexible with the hours.
  • Working days are predominately Monday to Friday days, we have a blended and flexible approach to the work we deliver. The role can include working from home, local offices and you will work closely and engage with various areas of our business and will need to be present on site.
  • 26 days holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays , rising to 30 days with length of service

What is special about this opportunity?

This is a varied and interactive role where you will work with the Health, Safety & Resilience team and operational teams across the division to ensure compliance with all health and safety related topics. You will therefore have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people across the business and our services. You will receive all the support you need, as well as the guidance to deliver great standards of work.

What skills and experience do you need?

Ideally we are looking for individuals with knowledge and experience in a care// healthcare/ trades based environment, as well as a background in health and safety compliance or advisory roles. We want individuals to join us who have excellent teamwork skills and a proactive "can-do" attitude. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. You should be capable of working under pressure and using own initiative. Flexibility and reliability are also key traits. Knowledge of legislative changes related to health and safety compliance, familiarity with Health & Safety Legislation and RIDDOR, understanding of COSHH, and a sound knowledge of infection control and HACCP systems are important. Education-wise, holding a NEBOSH General Certificate.
