Hours of work: 37 hours per week (including some weekday evenings). The actual working hours can be flexible to suit the availability of the post holder and agreed to fit the needs of the post holder and schools. It is preferred that the candidate will support our Harrogate schools. Office space is available in Starbeck, and home working is also possible. Evening working would be limited to attending the governing body meetings for four or five schools (i.e. four or five evenings per half-term), and as required/possible for governor network or training sessions.

Northern Star Academies Trust is looking for a self-motivated individual to provide high quality and responsive governance support, advice and guidance to the valued volunteers who make up our vibrant governance community. The post holder will work closely as part of a governance team and with the schools that make up our Trust ‘hubs’. The role is based in Harrogate, with potentially some requirement to cover our Keighley/Skipton schools on an ad hoc basis.
As a Trust Partnership we are absolutely committed to flexible working, and in this extremely varied role you will be required to manage your own time and work independently as well as part of a wider Trust team. The willingness and ability to attend evening meetings (in person and remotely) is essential, as is the ability to travel to school sites across North and West Yorkshire. You will need to be experienced in using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel etc.) as well as using in-house database
systems. The successful candidate will ideally have an awareness of governance procedures
within a school/Trust environment; however, we welcome and encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates.
We offer a commitment to your professional development, the opportunity to work in partnership with colleagues from primary and secondary schools across the Trust Partnership, and the chance to be a part of a dynamic and growing Trust. If you want to make a difference in supporting our volunteer governors and are committed to improving the educational experience for children, we would love to meet you and introduce you to our Trust.
