There will be a requirement to provide shift coverage for the Simulator Engineers on occasion for simulator evaluations, to cover team absences, ad hoc requests. This may include coverage on weekends and Day and Night shifts.

About the role:
The Simulator Compliance Engineer is responsible for providing compliance support for the Sim Maintenance dept. and delivery of compliance standards across the portfolio of Flight Simulated Training Devices (FSTDs) operated by L3Harris in the UK.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and manage the Simulator compliance, including supporting the Engineering and Compliance Manager and wider maintenance team.
- Arrange and Support regulator simulator evaluations and customer technical audits.
- Managing all communication with the Competent Authorities regarding any regulatory or compliance issue affecting the operation of the FSTD’s; including but not limited to the arrangement of FSTD initial and recurrent qualification evaluations, any new or changes to FSTD build standard, deactivation, relocation, major failures or safety issues of a qualified device.
- Provide oversight of simulator engineering to ensure that the QTG schedules are maintained, and all documentation required to be available for a Competent Authority inspection is produced.
- Prepare FSTD compliance data to be presented at Simulator evaluations or Quarterly Safety and Compliance Review Board meetings.
- Provide Regulatory advice to the Simulator Engineering and Compliance Manager, Global Regulatory Compliance Manager, Director of Operations and Heads of Training on all issues related to FSTD’s.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
- Experience as a Simulator Maintenance engineer or experience with supporting FSTD maintenance/ compliance.
- Have worked in a regulated industry (preferably aviation but not essential) with strict deadlines and procedures. Previous experience with ATO or similar regulatory environment is an advantage.
- Ability to undertake informal audits and ensure appropriate controls are in place for the external regulatory requirements.
- Proven organizational skills together with the ability to prioritize and use tact and judgement.
- Ability to manage high volume activities under tight time constraints.
- Proven ability to work accurately and pay meticulous attention to detail, even under pressure.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- In depth knowledge and understanding of UK CAA and EASA regulations CS-FSTD A, Part ARA, PART ORA and PART FCL
- Acceptable to UK CAA and EASA as the FSTD Compliance Engineer.
- In depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Compliance Monitoring Systems, including FSTD Quality Auditing principles
