The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Manager of Compliance & General Cash Operations Support in our San Francisco or Los Angeles location. In this exciting role, you will lead all aspects of, guide, and direct the 12th District’s cash operations support functions which includes strategy, compliance program oversight, training program oversight, budget, information governance, contracts management and COSO financial reviews. In addition, you will provide some oversight and guidance to Cash-centric communications as well as business continuity procedures. You will interact, contribute, lead and participate and, provide thought leadership to cash-related System groups including, various committee and workgroups for FedCash Services and Cash Advisory Group.
Bring your broad and comprehensive understanding of general support operations management, strategic thinking, project management, employee management all of which are key to this role! You will also need to understand wide range of currency/coin concepts and theories plus cash practices and interdependencies across all cash operations.
What you'll do
Effectively communicate and efficiently collaborate across the team, 12th District cash operations customers/constituents, Bank partners such as Facilities, LEU, ITS, People + Culture, Audit, Financial Management, and System (FCS and CAG) to make a positive impact for the team, Bank and System.
Influence and contribute to the team’s (or Bank and/or System) formation of polices and the development of best practices.
Lead and develop the team through recruiting, hiring, coaching and talent development, guide and mentor direct reports to include senior level individual contributors and professional specialists.
Ensure performance planning, succession planning, and salary recommendations and if needed, termination. Leads the team to adhere to all internal and external guidance.
You will define and refine team goals and strategies and establish team objectives in support of these strategies.
Lead the development of the team’s departmental functional strategy and tactical plans that are in alignment with goals, for support team and the priorities across Cash, Bank and System.
Stays informed of industry trends and changes in policies and procedures and recommends actions to Cash and Bank executive leaders and/or influence System partners.
Desired Experience + Traits
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience
Typically requires 7+ years of experience of leadership and/or managerial experience
Risk management and compliance experience
Strong problem solving and excellent analytical skills.
Highly energetic and exceptional coaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make immediate independent judgment decisions.
Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships, and influence individuals at all levels in the organization as well as external stakeholders.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record in motivating and inspiring workforces of varying sizes and complexities.
Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to achieve results under pressure while also effectively managing multiple priorities with competing demand for resources.
Demonstrate ability to change and adapt in response to situations as they develop, be comfortable changing course, making decisions in the absence of information or existing policies to guide them.
Experience in the development and implementation of new processes and policies.
Possess strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to utilize data to understand emerging trends and to identify solutions.
Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Demonstrate the ability to implement and execute programs on time and within budget.
Base Salary Range: Min: $122,600 - Mid: $159,100 - Max: $195,700 (Location: San Francisco)
Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
