Compliance Officer
Permanent
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Salary: £29,500 - £35,000 DOE + benefits package
Home based in England, Scotland or Wales – This role will include occasional travel
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join our EAL Quality & Compliance team within EAL part of Enginuity Group. You will be responsible for managing third party compliance cases, complaints, appeals, maladministration, and malpractice events to ensure that our customers are treated appropriately and fairly. You will investigate irregularities, non-compliance issues and resolve /record the outcomes to provide a clear audit trail. You will work as part of a small team promoting and supporting a culture of compliance.
What you’ll be doing
You will be assisting in the development and updating of the associated policies and procedures and monitoring their application to meet quality standards and ensuring we are fully compliant with regulatory requirements. Contributing to continuous improvement plans, carrying out reviews and feeding in lessons learnt to improve processes and practices. You will carry out internal audits as part of the annual audit cycle, identifying risks and areas for continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining all regulatory compliance systems, controls and processes ensuring that the organisation meets the regulatory requirements of Ofqual, Qualifications Wales, SQA Accreditation, CCEA Regulation and other government led or charitable bodies.
What we’re looking for
You will have proven experience in a similar compliance officer role within a regulatory environment dealing with complaint/appeal handling and investigations as well as experience in developing and providing accurate and timely information and reports to a variety of audiences, particularly regulatory bodies and advising those operating within. You will have the ability to develop and implement clear and effective policies and procedures, analyse and report on complex information as well as diligence, perseverance and excellent attention to detail. You will have highly developed planning and organising skills in a fast-paced environment, a can-do-attitude and a solutions focused approach. You will hold a current driving licence and have a willingness to travel on occasions across the region and nationally.
Other skills which would be desirable however not needed to apply for the role
If you are educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of working within an Awarding Organisation this would be an advantage.
