Job Introduction

DACB’s Practice Governance & Risk (‘PG&R’) team is currently looking for a recent graduate to join us as an International Compliance Officer with language skills.

The role is to provide support and assistance to colleagues in our international offices as well as to our PG&R International team with a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: (i) financial crime, (ii) anti-money laundering, (iii) new client acceptance, (iv) horizon scanning, (v) data protection, (vi) information security, (vii) supplier on-boarding, and (viii) risk management.

The team's language capability extends to 5 languages at present, and it would like to increase that capability.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a bilingual/multilingual graduate with an interest to gain experience in the above mentioned areas. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and adaptability to different cultures.

Training, supervision and guidance will be provided by our multinational team.

Working hours: 35 hours a week.

Although the role sits within the Leeds office, DACB now operates its Flex-Forward way of working, which means the successful candidate will agree with their line manager an appropriate split of time between office and home based working.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assisting our international offices with new client acceptance in accordance with our Anti-Money Laundering/Financial Crime policies.
  • Carrying out due diligence enquiries into clients, before acceptance and on an ongoing basis, including from a Financial Sanctions perspective (with support and supervision).
  • Drafting, organising, distributing and (where applicable) completing due diligence questionnaires for the international offices (which have been requested by clients/ or where we request our suppliers).
  • Horizon scanning for legislative and regulatory changes that may affect our international business, and actively putting forward ideas and potential solutions to address them.
  • Assisting PG&R with the development and upkeep of the international framework of policies.
  • Assisting PG&R, and all offices' Money Laundering Reporting Officers/deputies, and Data Protection Officers as required from time to time.
  • Assisting with various aspects of DACB’s ongoing projects to expand its international offering.
  • Researching a wide variety of areas in relation to the above listed topics as applicable in various jurisdictions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports for PG&R and wider DACB management.

  • Qualified to degree level education (in any country).

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office packages (further training will be given, if required).
