Export Control Compliance Manager
Purpose and Objectives of Role:
To ensure compliance with Export and Import Control, Trade, Security and other Compliance related legislation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures
· Drive improvements in process and to the company’s IT system
· Ensure records are maintained in electronic and/or hard copy form as necessary
· Develop and roll out training and associated training records
· Monitor and implement impact from legislative and regulatory changes
· Support regulatory audits, including by HMRC, the UK Export Control Joint Unit, customers and the Irish Trade Licensing and Control Unit
· Export licensing for controlled goods and technology
· Regulatory regimes include: UK, EU, US EAR & EAR 600 series
· Control of goods and technology (military and duel-use)
· Licencing (OGEL, SIEL, OIEL etc)
· Customer undertakings (end use, stocklist, etc) maintaining undertakings
· Tariff classification, commodity codes and description of goods (HTS, ECCNs)
· Import and export paperwork compliant with HMRC & Revenues requirements
· Reconciling information with HMRC & Revenue data
· Intercompany price agreement and exports
· Inwards Processing Relief (IPR) & Outwards Processing Relief (OPR)
· Adhere to policy, processes, safe working methods and risk assessments
· Support colleagues in maintaining a safe working environment, suggest business improvements
Requirements:
· Experience in export and customs operations
· Deep understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language and the contract lifecycle, ideally gained in the aerospace, defence or similar sectors.
· Knowledge and experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment and with some knowledge of substances compliance
· Materials and substances compliance (ie. REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals)
· UK CA and EU CE marking experience
· Degree, HNC/HND in Engineering or similar subject preferred
· IT literate, including willingness to adapt to bespoke sales management and order processing system Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
· Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision
· Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal and financial implications
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £38,468.55-£48,610.87 per year
