What is the opportunity?
You will be working in an exciting, proactive, and 1st line risk team, which operates across a broad range of consumer products and business partner. Building strong working relationships, you will give sound and pragmatic regulatory advice, directly supplying to the delivery of our core customer values!
We are offering a hybrid working model for this 12-month position with a requirement to attend the Bristol office regularly and when there is a business requirement, including the monthly team meeting.
In this role you will-
- Provide business focussed Compliance and Risk expertise, supporting consumer credit, and mortgage product areas with a focus on collections and recoveries. Includes input on projects, new business development and regulatory changes.
- Proactively engage and support partners to implement change initiatives by providing guidance on all matters relating to regulatory compliance. Ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.
- Give feedback and Regulatory sign off on customer documentation (including websites and correspondence) as well as business unit procedures.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the Business Divisions you support and the wider risk community to ensure appropriate co-ordination and delivery of compliance and risk services.
- Report and raise risk matters as required, making appropriate recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Maintain and expand your regulatory knowledge in respect of retail banking.
What will make you stand out?
- Strong UK Financial services regulatory experience, with experience in a Compliance and Risk advisory role.
- Demonstrated experience of analysing and interpretation of regulatory documentation in either consumer credit, mortgages, or current account markets. Sound understanding of UK Retail Banking Regulations with practical experience of advising on regulatory risks, controls, and issues, in a collections and recoveries environment.
- Strong focus on achieving successful customer outcomes with a collaborative approach to problem solving, with good communication skills.
- Ability to provide intellectual accuracy to business controls and risk assessment, development of business solutions and decision making.

This role sits within Operational Control in BOI UK. We perform a 'first line of defence' role across consumer products in the UK, providing advice and mentorship to the various Business Divisions on leading their risks, including raising risk and control issues to senior management.
This role will report to the team supporting UK Operations.
