RISK AND COMPLIANCE SOLICITOR

This progressive top 100 firm is looking for a Risk and Compliance Solicitor to join their office in the Oxford with opportunity for flexible working.

Role Overview

As a Risk and Compliance Solicitor you will play a vital role in supporting the Director of Risk and Best Practice in delivering our firm’s risk management and compliance service. Joining the Risk and Best Practice Team, your primary responsibilities will include managing the firm’s claims and complaints, ensuring GDPR compliance, reviewing contracts and retainer terms, providing legal advice on risk and compliance matters, monitoring legal and regulatory developments, and assisting in the design and review of the Firm’s policies and procedures. Additionally, you will promote professional best practices, handle inquiries from regulatory agencies, and contribute to the firm’s Learning and Development program.

Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a Risk and Compliance Solicitor who can demonstrate:

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEx with experience in either in-house or private practice.
• Strong background in litigation, data protection, and GDPR matters.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and codes of conduct applicable to law firm operations, including the SRA Handbook.
• Commercially aware, with a focus on implementing risk and compliance controls within a business environment.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Proactive and able to work autonomously, prioritizing workload effectively.
• Adaptable and open to staying up-to-date with legal and regulatory developments in the field.
