We are looking to recruit a highly skilled, dynamic, and motivated individual to provide maternity leave cover for a range of health and safety compliance functions across Streetpride. This will be till approximately July 2024.
Streetpride has a range of high risk service areas, including Arboricultural Services, Grounds Maintenance, Highway Maintenance, Refuse and Recycling Collection, Street Cleansing, Trade Waste and Vehicle and Plant Workshop.
You will have substantial experience within the Health and Safety field, preferably within a Local Authority setting or another large multi-disciplinary service where you can evidence experience of providing operational health, safety, and welfare advice across a wide range of services.
Your commitment to raising the profile of health and safety by engaging and influencing staff throughout all services and the promoting of a culture where the leadership and ownership of health and safety risk management is embedded into service delivery will be fundamental aspects of your role.
You will provide a professional advisory and delivery service embracing all areas of health and safety management including policy development, risk assessment, staff training, workplace inspections and audits, investigating, recording and reporting of accidents and dangerous occurrences. This will include working closely with individual team managers to ensure compliance across all service areas.
In addition to your ability to interpret health and safety legislation, you must have an innovative approach with well-developed interpersonal skills to engage, motivate and influence others at all levels to deliver improved health and safety performance.
You will be aware of the impact and influence that health, safety and wellbeing can have upon the organisation and display a pragmatic, can-do approach who is also highly motivated with a strong customer orientated focus.
