We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Compliance Inspector to join our Assets and Sustainability function on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting time to join our expanding Building Safety team to help and support our ambition to build more homes and invest in our existing properties.
The main purpose of this role is to carry out fire safety and compliance inspections to ensure the Group is compliant to all Landlord Health and Safety legislation, statutory duties, and governance standards.
This is a varied opportunity where you will travel around your locality to complete safety inspections of fire doors and fire detection equipment. You will also support the team with other compliance checks, ensure repairs are logged and provide an on-site technical role for the Building Safety Team, including site visits to assist in accident and insurance investigations, and assisting with completing fire risk actions.
Some of the things we are looking for:
Experience of carrying out detailed compliance inspections and recording findings
Good technical ability in relation to construction and fire safety
Previous experience of working towards strict time scales in a busy environment
A reliable and a can-do attitude and able to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently
Good communication skills and is accurate and detail conscious
Be able to work autonomously and can interpret and report information electronically
To be approachable and represent the organisation positively and professionally
To be able to solve problems and be solution focused
Good organisational skills which enable the management of competing and conflicting priorities effectively
Adaptability and able to work constructively within a team or individually to achieve goals
Experience of working for a Housing Association or similar organisation, preferably within the areas of Asset Management and/or Building Safety would be considered desirable
Please note that as part of the duties of this role you will need to be able to climb ladders to access the roof space within properties and will also be needed to access other confined spaces.
It is essential to have a full UK driving license and the ability to regularly travel to Group offices and other locations around the Worcester area to conduct inspections.
