Flint Bishop is embracing a new era of growth. We are expanding our compliance department to support the businesses growth strategy and to drive forward development plans for risk and compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their compliance knowledge as the role will be varied and will contribute to all aspects of all risk and compliance. The role will require engagement with all staff, partners, clients, regulatory bodies, external third parties.
Remote and/or hybrid working options are available. Occasional travel is required to the office for occasional meetings and events. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Compliance and work within a small team stationed remotely and across both offices.
Key Responsibilities

Primary responsibility for handling incoming queries, incidents, complaints and claims. Ensuring all are handled in accordance with procedure and are proactively managed, and are escalated in accordance with process. Where necessary, liaising with regulators and/or Legal
Ombudsman to ensure the most favourable outcomes are achieved. - To assist in all aspects of the firm’s approach to managing financial crime (anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, property fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, and tax evasion).
- Providing compliance guidance to the business on regulatory issues and professional ethics.
- Undertaking internal audits, file reviews, and thematic reviews and ensuring that all actions are managed.
- Preparing risk assessments, implementing risk controls and ongoing monitoring of risk.
- Providing responses to client audits, questionnaires, and tenders.
- Development of policies, procedures, guidance, and training material.
- Designing and delivering R&C training programmes and materials.
- Delivering compliance induction training for new employees.
- Leading on and supporting with continual improvement projects.
- Horizon scanning of key legal and regulatory requirements.
- Producing management and KPI information.
- Analysing risk and compliance information and producing reports.
- Other ad hoc tasks when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in a risk or compliance related role (essential).
- Be organised, process driven and analytical with a pragmatic approach to finding solutions.
- Be highly self-motivated and comfortable with regular deadlines.
- Be able to multi-task and prioritise the workload.
- Be hard-working and a good team player.
