Job description
We are recruiting a person-centred Care Assistant to join our team supporting a paediatric client living at home. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of care and support for the client. Experience with Tracheostomy and Gastrostomy management is preferred however clinical training will be provided.
Preferably a women carer.
Ideally, applicants will have demonstrable skills and experience in the following areas however, training will be provided.
Job Describtion:
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing and grooming)
- Professional and reliable with strong interpersonal skills
- Previous experience of working with children with Tracheostomy and Ventilation is desirable
- Up to date with safeguarding practices
- Friendly, kind and approachable
- Build cooperative, trusting relationships with parents and co-workers
- Peg Feeding/Oral suctioning/Ventilator
- Manual handling
- Medication management, monitoring SATS and Nebuliser care
- Ability to communicate with enthusiasm effectively with a non verbal child. Basic sign language skills (preferred)
- Ensure care plans and additional information are followed and any changes are escalated to team leads efficiently and safely
- Using complex care equipment and carrying out complex care procedures
- Support outside the home where required i.e. medical appointments and school.
