Job description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to come and work within our Community Paediatrics Team at Shooters Hill.

This is a new role which will be working alongside our established Medical Doctors. We are adding a Nursing perspective to enhance the Team and branch out into new ways of working.

This role will be about making the experience for the children and young people in our care a positive one and you will be able to develop the role alongside the new Advanced Practice Nurse.

  • To complete physical health observations, such as height, weight and blood pressure
  • To be a chaperone during Child Protection Medical appointments.
  • To support families with sleep behaviour advice
  • An effective communicator, observer & listener
  • Understand the need for and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Adhere to all organisational, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure good working relationships with patients, carers, relatives, other professionals and the public
  • An understanding of and demonstrate use of clinical supervision to reflect upon and modify practice
  • Behave at all times in a professionally acceptable manner
  • To be aware that there may exposure to bodily fluids as part of the role

The Healthcare Assistant role will sit in the Community Paediatric Team and will support the Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Doctors to assess Children and Young People as part of their physical health assessment.

The post holder will provide a person-centred approach to providing care and support to the patients who use the Community Paediatric Service. They will assist in the delivery of high-quality nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or Doctor.
