We are looking for Community Tutors across a wide range of specialities to join our Adult & Community division. We are looking for engaging and positive people who love to make a difference in the community.
Our Community Tutors teach courses across a wide variety of subjects, including but not limited to
Maths - English - ESOL – Digital Skills - Health and Care - Hair and Beauty - Cooking - Essential skills - Sewing - Crafts - Black and textured hair and makeup - First Aid – Construction and DIY - Personal and Social Development - SEN - Employability - Horticulture/Gardening

Responsibilities include:
- To teach on courses specified by the Head of Department/Programme Area Leader.
- To assist the Programme Area Leader with costings and control of materials and equipment when specified.
- To be responsible to the Programme Area Leader for student discipline, counselling and guidance during all assigned classes.
- To participate in Course Committee activities.
- To direct students actively towards safe industrial working practices where appropriate.
- To participate actively in the enrolment, monitoring, profiling and assessment of students or trainees.
- To participate in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers.
- To produce Schemes of work and Lesson plans and where appropriate course syllabus.
- Provide individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
- Supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
- Act as academic and pastoral tutor to students.
- To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.

Education & Training
- A Bachelor’s Degree relevant to your chosen specialism
- GCSE 5 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
- GCSE 5 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
- QTLS is desirable but not essential
Experience
- Experience of working/teaching within your chosen specialism
- Experience of course development is desirable but not essential
