Job Summary

To drive The Rainbow Foundations minibus and community transport vehicles to transport clients to our services including Day Opportunities, Community Groups and our Active Futures falls prevention and strengthening classes.

About Active Futures

Active Futures is a programme of free physiotherapist led exercise classes targeting over 60’s who are at risk of falls, which is delivered via The Rainbow Foundation. The classes are designed to help improve the strength and balance of attendees and reduce the risk of falls.

Role Responsibilities

  • Drive The Rainbow Foundation minibus and community transport vehicles to support people to attend our services including Day Opportunities, groups and out Active Futures Falls Prevention programme (across Wrexham).
  • Willing to drive our vehicles including The Rainbow Foundation minibuses and caddy.
  • Drive the vehicle(s) to collect people from their homes and bring them to the class venue / care hubs, and to take them home afterwards.
  • Be responsible for conducting basic safety checks on the minibus each day and reporting any faults to management/garage.
  • Ensure that the vehicle(s) are kept clean and presentable.
  • Ensure that the vehicle(s) are maintained to a level where it is legal to drive and ensure that any concerns are reported.
  • Assist with taking clients to external appointments where necessary.
  • Have a good understanding of the needs of older people and be able to engage with clients in a professional, polite, and courteous manner.
  • To work with the Home Care & Support Management team and the Active Futures Community Lead to ensure that the transport needs of our clients are met.
  • Must be willing to undertake MIDAS training recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers and has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses.
  • Support with site maintenance during downtime when not driving. This includes some light gardening and site maintenance duties.

Other duties:

  • Carry out additional tasks that may be required from time to time to achieve agreed service outcomes.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and training, constructively participating in meetings, supervision and other events designed to improve communication and assist with personal skills development within the role.
  • Ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance with the Data Protection Act and other legislation.
  • Maintain confidentially of all information and records relating to the work of The Rainbow Foundation and work undertaken for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 18 - 37.5 per week

Salary: £10.95 per hour
