Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced support worker to support an adult male in his own residency located in the Blaenua Gwent area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on care in all aspects of daily life, including personal care, communication, and participating in therapeutic and recreational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating communication and social interaction through the use of visual supports and other assistive technologies
- Helping with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, writing a shopping list, going shopping.
- Providing a structured and consistent daily routine
- Participating in therapeutic and recreational activities , such as sensory and outdoor activites
- Implement and track progress towards goals
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care and progress
- Help to develop life skills and independence
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
- DBS on update service (this can be arranged)
