This is a relatively new Community Home in Abergavenny, registered with The Care Inspectorate Wales, in April 2019, as a Home for adults, both Male and Female, with a primary Mental Health diagnosis, with established and experienced staff, whether you are looking for a new career or already work in Community Support/Social Care, you’ll receive training to join the team as a Community Support worker. You will be valued and supported, with career development opportunities available and a pathway to register with Social Care Wales.

You will join a group of experienced staff that supports and promotes the independence and wellbeing of our residents in; Tydfil House a community home that does “with Residents and not for” and embraces a person centred philosophy around choices and independence.
Day to day duties will involve supporting residents with a variety of daily living skills, such as shopping, cooking, budgeting, independence and medication Etc. all the while adopting a person centred approach that empowers the resident in being involved in all aspects of their care and decisions made in relation to their individual recovery plan. You will be supporting and supported, by Management in a close knit team that promotes an enthusiastic workplace ethic that is beneficial to our residents.
Tydfil House encourages all residents to go about their day as independently as possible, with each Resident requiring different levels of support. You will join a team that respects the autonomy, dignity and privacy of those who reside in our service. You will continue to provide the required support in order to help our residents achieve positive progressions in and toward their care pathways.

Tydfil House is a community home that offers support to individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental illness. Residents are normally stepping down from hospital based care and are assisted with developing required living skills in order to potentially reintegrate them in to the community in a less supported setting moving forward in their recovery pathway and there may be times when you could be redeployed to other Elysium sites, if the service needs, dictates.
Tydfil House is just a short distance from Abergavenny town centre and is a two storey building with 4 bedrooms, 3 on the first floor and one on the ground floor, with en-suite facilities.
At Tydfil House we value the diversity of our Residents and staff and promotes recovery and rehabilitation offering “step down” services from a hospital environment, for both male and female residents, with a diagnosis of a recognised mental health illness.
The home is staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year and whilst there is no direct personal care, support and care is provided with the emphasis placed on the individual’s personal choices, dignity and independence. Tydfil House also has the use of the resources from the local Multi-Disciplinary Team, based at the nearby Ty Gwyn Hall Hospital.
There is a robust and structured programme of training for all new employees, including an in-depth induction, (Embracing the All Wales Induction Framework)
Tydfil House is registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales with staff registered with Social Care
