It's an exciting time at Sense as our team is expanding! We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Community Support Worker to join our team in Coventry. Our Get Out There (GOT) Service supports children and young people with their social programme of activities.
This will be a permanent role, working 5 hours per week in Coventry. Hours will be after school and at weekends. Looking for two candidates.
The great thing about Sense is that you don’t need to have previous experience in this field- we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker.
As a GOT Service Community Support Worker, you will be supporting a non verbal young individual who has autism in their home, at our new Coventry Sense centre and in the community.
You will be working 2:1 with another staff member to provide sensory activities and communication opportunities. You will be working closely with school, occupational therapists and learning disability nurses.

To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.
To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards. Your required skills and experiences:
Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is desirable ( BSL / Makaton etc.)
A full manual UK license is required as you will be required to drive and take the people you support out in the community.
Must have experience of dealing with people with one or more disabilities and/or autism.
Must be able to work as part of a team and keep accurate records.
