Based at North Thatcham Children’s hub and working within the West Berkshire area to deliver core and targeted services to children aged 0-5 and their families this is an invaluable opportunity for anyone wanting to gain experience in a public health role.
Although this is a community role, as a Staff Nurse you will mainly be clinic based so will often be at one base for an entire day.
We offer an enhanced training package and plenty of opportunity to hold a “lead” or “champion” role in the health needs of families. You will be supported to work independently and will have a buddy & mentor from within the service.
To be successful in this position you will need a real passion for working with children and families and be a committed, flexible team player. You will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies. You will collaborate with Children’s Centre’s in the implementation of the Healthy Child Programme underpinned by the Solihull Approach model of working.
- To participate in developing and implementing outcome focused care plans and evaluate care given, in partnership with clients.
- To provide support to families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families.
- To develop and facilitate Health Visiting drop in clinics, health promotion activities and groups, work on the duty line.

- You will be a Registered Nurse (or due to qualify) active on the NMC register
- You will hold a valid UK drivers license with access to a vehicle
