KNB Communications is 100% remote. You can work from anywhere if you have dependable internet and are willing to keep central or eastern hours.
Roles and responsibilities
- Own the success of media relations programs for our clients
- Craft unique and creative pitches and secure media coverage
- Author high-quality content, including press releases, pitches, byline articles, case studies, and other collateral
- Cultivate strong relationships with media, industry leaders, clients, freelancers, KNB vendors, and other stakeholders
- Set media relations strategy, creatively link complex issues with newsworthy coverage potential
- Manage the delivery of PR campaigns across all media platforms
- Lead proactive and reactive media relations efforts to achieve quality, high-impact placements on a consistent basis
- Develop and implement evolving quarterly media strategies
- Coordinate the interview process, develop key messages and briefing sheets to prepare clients for media interviews
- Monitor media trends, present and share media reports and deliverables with clients
- Organize communication, project status, and reporting for up-to-date information and communication between the team and client
- Create and update target media lists, messaging matrices, and editorial calendars
- Maintain and update agency media database
- Offer new ideas and initiatives to the team
- Assist with new business research, proposal writing, and presentations as needed
- Demonstrate enthusiasm in client communications
- Celebrate successes with clients and KNB team

Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 7+ years of PR/communications experience (recovering journalists welcome)
- Proven proficiency managing media relations and securing earned placements (online, broadcast, and print)
- Robust network of traditional and online media contacts
- Ability to maintain and foster relationships with clients and media
- Strategic planner and effective implementer
- Be deadline driven, prioritize, and adapt under pressure
- Knowledge of best practices in the communications and media, and PR space
- Superior writing skills
- Strong desire to work in a team and collaborative, creative, and cool
Nice to have:
- Past work in healthcare, health tech, pharma, &/or life sciences
- Familiar with an agency environment
- Working knowledge of software such as Critical Mention, Cision, PR Newswire, SEM Rush, and HubSpot
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance challenges for drug commercialization

- Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm ET
