We are currently recruiting a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join our Adult Community Mental Health Team.

This role will be of interest for a psychiatric nurse who has worked with adults in a mental health setting. However, training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

We are a well-established, enthusiastic and motivated team. We work with adults who are experiencing severe mental health issues.

We are a relatively small, friendly, supportive team of CPNs, SW, OT, OTTI, CSW, MHWPs, Psychologist, Trainee CBT Therapist and Psychiatrists, covering the Vale Royal area (Northwich and Winsford).

The role will primarily be managing a caseload, supporting with duty and clinics. There are opportunities to develop the role and we embrace creative, effective, evidence-based ways of working with people who suffer from mental health problems.

The post holder will work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary framework, undertaking assessments and coordinating the care of patients with both functional and organic mental illness.

The post holder will maintain a caseload which will involve ongoing assessment: Formulation of care planning, risk assessments, Memory assessments. Completing reviews and offering interventions to help improve wellbeing/outcomes for the individual and their families, signposting to other agencies as necessary. Excellent communication, report writing, and assessment skills are essential for this post. Applicants should have sound working knowledge of mental health disorders and the Mental Health Act.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
