SOAR is an award-winning regeneration charity in North Sheffield which provides a number of services for the community including health, buildings management, training and support into employment.

SOAR has an exciting vacancy in our Families & Community Services Team for a Community
Development Worker:

Community Development Worker

Part time (22.2 hours) flexible hours

Salary: £23,780 pro rata
Permanent subject to funding

KEY TERMS & CONDITIONS:

  • 22.2 hours per week, 25 days holiday pro rata, 1-day birthday leave, 8% non-contributory pension.
  • SOAR is a living wage employer and seeks to uprate salaries by the annual increase in the living wage

This post will support local Welcome Places to initiate and develop services that enable the com munity to build their own capacity to negotiate the cost of living challenges. It will ensure
We lcome Places are integrated into local services, addressing local concerns, and where there is a la ck of provision, support the work to develop services as required. The post will strive to en sure that Welcome Places are sustainable and have robust plans for their future development.

Wo rking with individuals, families, Welcome Places and communities in north east Sheffield to em power them to;

  • Identify assets, needs, opportunities, and gaps in service provision
  • Alongside partners, plan what needs to be achieved and support appropriate action.
  • With partners, develop activities and services
  • Contribute to the development of a recognised and valued voice for communities
  • An Enhanced DBS is required for this role
