Kent and Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), rated ‘Good’ in their most recent CQC report (with care and some services rated as ‘Outstanding’), provides mental health, learning disability and specialist services across the county. Nestled in the Garden of England with easy access to London, KMPT operates across 33 locations, where a mix of rural, coastal and urban housing is available within Kent.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to their needs and concerns
  • Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing
  • Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You’ll have the following qualification/experience:

  • A minimum of 3 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant (Mental Health) or studying as a Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks’ clinical placements, studying towards a relevant Nursing degree
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the nurse in charge of the unit/ward, undertaking duties and activities, with limited or indirect supervision
  • Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with Trust guidelines
  • Undertake regular mandatory training*
