Permanent – Communications & Social Media Co-ordinator
Hours - Part Time – 20 hours per week
Salary – Negotiable
Description
We are looking for a Communications & Social Media Co-ordinator to co-ordinate our communications and social media platforms using them to ‘do ministry, not just promote ministry’.
The successful candidate will:
- Be highly computer literate and able to learn new programs quickly.
- Possess excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Be able to demonstrate good design skills and creative ability
- Have strong emotional intelligence with the ability to factor the ‘people’ aspect into projects and problems.
- Be self-motivated and flexible.
- Able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
- Work well in a team ministry context.
- Have an active Christian faith and be committed to the growth of our Church family.

Position – Communications & Social Media Co-ordinator
Purpose of the post
The Communications and Social Media Co-ordinator will be responsible in building and maintaining strong online communities through our various social media platforms. They will be responsible for developing and administering online content that is designed to engage users and foster relationships across digital and physical boundaries.
Accountability
The Communications & Social Media Co-ordinator will be accountable to the Support Team Manager
Communication, Publicity and Social Media o To manage and keep website up to date. o To assist Staff and SBC Members in creation of any event posters, fliers and other general marketing materials. o To assist in printing of handouts, posters etc. o Provide regular updates and maintain the various social media platforms with positive and regular engagement. o Keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies. o Use social media to ‘do ministry and not just promote ministry'. o Support in production and sharing of video media content o Church service technical support for live streaming
General Office Support o To provide administrative support to Office and the Support Team Manager with any day-to-day tasks required as commensurate with the role.
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
o Highly computer literate and able to learn new programs quickly. o Good design skills, creative ability o Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and influencing skills. o Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is essential. o Experience with all Microsoft Packages.
Desirable
o Experience of working in a busy office environment and multi-tasking is desirable. o Working knowledge of website content management platforms o Keen to learn new skills and upskill
Competences o Able to demonstrate strong emotional intelligence with the ability to factor the ‘people’ aspect into projects and problems. o Good communication skills to help staff members in creating content for website and publications etc. o Self-motivated and flexible. o Able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively. o Role would suit a Media student or someone with a digitial/film/marketing background o Have an active Christian faith and be committed to the growth of our Church family.

Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: £12.00-£12.50 per hour
