The recently created Northampton Town Council is committed to communicating with our residents and partners in an engaging and dynamic way. We are building a reputation for supporting our communities, delivering brilliant projects and putting on fantastic events and we require someone to lead our communications strategy and tell our residents that we are here for them.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual to join the team and lead this new era as the Town Council begins to formulate its strategy, deliver services and support our communities. Predominantly office based at the beautiful Northampton Guildhall, the successful candidate will be part of the journey, telling the town and the council's story to councillors, residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Duties will include the delivery of campaigns to promote our events and projects, implementing innovative ways to tell the Town Council's story, establishing our communications strategy, growing our audience and supporting our officers in showcasing what we do.

The post holder will take the lead on projects such as a newsletter, social media content and design and launching our new branding which is currently in development. We will expect you to be creative with design and other mediums such as video as we tell the people of Northampton and beyond about ourselves. You will also need to be nimble and think on your feet, communications are fast paced and there will be times when you will need to work quickly and at short notice. Most of all we need you to be a team player with an ability to work with officers, councillors and partners to deliver great content.
