The Opportunity
Talbot Rice Gallery are seeking a Communications & Marketing Manager who is passionate about the visual arts to join our team. The role will be responsible for leading the strategic development and delivery of Talbot Rice Gallery’s Communications & Marketing Strategy to ensure the widest possible reach within the University context and beyond to local, national and international audiences.
The Communications & Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering work across press, digital, social media, print and advertising to grow engagement with Talbot Rice Gallery and build our reputation and profile as the public art gallery of the University of Edinburgh.
As a member of TRG’s small, highly valued team, you will play an important part in shaping the organisation over the coming years.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Previous practical experience of marketing and audience development, preferably in a contemporary arts or creative cultural context.
- Understanding of best contemporary practice in marketing and communications.
- Experience of developing a digital strategy and managing social media activity effectively on behalf of an organisation.
- Experience of budgeting and budgetary control.
- Sound knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite and graphic design proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
- Strong project management and administration skills.
- Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Experience of working positively with Press.
