THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Communications Manager to join our highly reputable, global broking company based in our London office. Working in flat hierarchy with direct access to decision-makers, this role will suit candidates who embrace an entrepreneurial environment and think creatively outside of the box. The pace will be fast and the scope varied so this role is suitable for an adaptable individual who is able to think quickly on their feet.
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and raising brand profile through client communications, marketing communications and media relations
Develop internal communications strategy, cascading communications from senior management team as appropriate
Support Head of Business Development with marketing materials and client event planning including webinars, conferences and invitations
Build marketing strategy in consultation with the Senior Management team
Responsible for external communications including events, website content, drafting press releases
Develop social media presence in conjunction with Business Development
Manage upload of articles, news, opinion pieces onto app
Build and support employee engagement and corporate culture
Manage and accountability for Comms staff
Build strong working relationships with media, drafting press releases and drafting and / or editing other written communications as required
Contribute to formation and content of internal policies as requested by senior management team.
Assist with staff learning and development, including producing training materials, leading training sessions and assisting with campus presentations
Assist and where required, lead with communicating delivery and education of projects internally to staff
Report writing, podcast and ad hoc comms related work where needed.
Discuss and communicate internal and external communications with Senior Management
Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require
Provide notice of meetings to the Risk Committee, acting in accordance with the Risk Committee Terms of Reference
Minute the proceedings of all meetings of the Committee and circulate promptly to all members of the Committee
Maintain signed copies of the minutes of the meetings in both hard and soft copy
Requirements
Key competencies / skills
Experience in delivering internal & external comms through multi-channels, adjusting content and style to the audience
Intellectual curiosity to get involved and excel in ad hoc projects
Excellent content, writing and presentation skills obtained in a Commodities environment
Keen interest in Economics, ESG and politics an advantage
Possess sound knowledge of all company products and markets, sound knowledge of derivatives as well as underlying markets and technical aspects of broking
Educated to degree level, ideally gained at a top tier university
Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible
Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues
Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment
Team oriented; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities
Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills
Competent in Excel and other systems as required
