MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree. A minimum of three years of experience in television or print media, digital media, communications, public relations, marketing, or managing campaigns is required. Additional work experience in television or print media, digital media, communications, public relations, marketing, or managing political campaigns may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
RECRUITMENT NOTES
This is a high-level professional position responsible for overseeing and managing public affairs, public relations, marketing, digital media, and internal/ external communications within the Internal Services Department. This position is also responsible for the management and strategic planning for the development of departmental communications and public affairs strategies. Additionally, the position will work closely with the Mayor's office to ensure consistency with mayoral communication policy.
This position may lend itself to Miami-Dade’s Telecommuting Policy, which includes flexible work schedules and remote home working in those areas where such a policy is viable and meets the goals and objectives of the operations.
ISD provides a wide range of internal support services for the ongoing operation of County government which focuses on promoting operational best practices and efficient government operations. ISD provides various customer-based business services that include, but are not limited to facility management, design and construction management, fleet management, risk management, surplus property disposition services, capital inventory management, and large-scale printing services, and small business development and services. Through these various business lines, ISD is engaged in real estate development and management, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, elevator regulation, materials management, and parking services.
