To oversee all direct communications to season ticket holders and members around tickets, matchday information and fan experience, ensuring fans feel well informed and valued.
The Role:
- Line management of one member of team – Fan Communication & Data Administrator
- Work with colleagues across Ticketing & Membership Services to understand their requirements and policies and translate this into effective communications to supporters.
- Lead on all ticket related communications to fans including operational updates and policy changes
- Support the Head of Fan Engagement in delivering the clubs fan engagement strategy and improving the experience for fans of the men’s and women’s teams.
- Lead on evaluation of communications and other fan engagement activity and producing reports and insights to improve performance.
- Ensure all communications are clear, human in tone and relevant to audience.
- Support on ensuring the club meets and exceeds all aspects of the Premier League’s new Fan Engagement Standard
- Support the effective running of the Fans’ Forum, including working with sub-groups.
- Attend pre-game operational planning meetings to ensure fan input is given and information gathered to share with fans ahead of their visit.
- Regularly meet with key supporter groups and fan reps to help understand issues, evaluate communications and improve service.
- Help drive the Club’s equality, diversity and inclusion work with fans and fan groups, with particular focus on the Premier League Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Standard
- Create and deliver fan campaigns to ensure the best matchday atmosphere in the Premier League
- Lead on fan education and behavioural initiatives in partnership with relevant stakeholders for example around tragedy chanting
- Work with colleagues across Brand, Communications & Content on fan related campaigns
- Support on fan engagement events with our large network of official supporters’ clubs
The Person:
Essential experience and skills:
- Experience in designing and delivering high quality and effective communications to end users.
- Proven track record of excellent internal and external stakeholder engagement management
- Exceptional written, presentation/ design and oral communication skills
- Highly developed organisational skills, working effectively across boundaries.
- Comfort working in ambiguous and fast-paced environments with the ability to craft clear communications within this type of environment.
- Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and facilitate collaborative and agile ways of working.
- Excellent evaluation and analytical skills to improve performance.
- Previous experience of working in the professional sports / entertainment sector
- Knowledge and experience of working with fans and fan groups
- Knowledge of Manchester United Football Club and its fanbase
