Established in 1964, the International Egg Commission (IEC) is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the egg industry internationally, with members in over 70 countries globally. At the heart of our organisation is a high performing communications team and we are seeking an organised and proactive Communications Administrator to provide comprehensive support to this team.

The Communications Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department by managing administrative tasks, coordinating projects, and facilitating effective communication channels. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. This new office-based role is available on a part-time basis. A minimum of 20 hours per week is required across Monday – Friday, with working hours open to initial negotiation.

Responsibilities:

· Provide administrative support to the Communications Department, including scheduling calls and virtual meetings, and arranging travel logistics.

· Serve as a point-of-contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling inquiries and requests for information in a professional and efficient manner.

· Support the implementation and maintenance of communication tools and systems, such as content management systems, social media platforms, and project management software.

· Maintain and organise departmental files, records, and databases, ensuring information is easily accessible and up to date.

· Assist in the coordination and execution of communication projects and campaigns, ensuring timelines are met and deliverables are of high quality.

· Ensure that the communications team operates seamlessly and that all requests are dealt with in an efficient, professional manner.

· Conduct research and gather data to support communication initiatives, analysing findings and providing recommendations as needed.

· Review and proofread content to ensure accuracy that adheres to the IEC’s brand guidelines.

· Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Your Knowledge and Skills:

Essential

  • Articulate, engaging and accurate communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines independently.
  • Great attention to detail, particularly regarding visual presentation, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, with strong digital and IT skills.
  • Proven administrative experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting a team within a fast-paced office environment.
  • Experience using Mailchimp.
  • Experience using content management systems (such as Hootsuite).
  • Experience using Website CMS (WordPress) and Google Analytics would be an advantage, but full training can be provided.

Line Management

This position will report to the Communications Manager.
