Communications Associate: The WV Attorney General seeks a Communications Associate to be an integral part of the Office’s press shop and assist the Press Secretary. The Associate will also act as a copywriter and media liaison. A bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or a closely related field is required, plus three (3) years’ experience in public relations, public policy, journalism or advertising. The ideal applicant will be an excellent writer and communicator with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while meeting tight deadlines. Successful candidates will have some experience planning and implementing national, statewide and local media strategies, including social media, writing news releases and op-eds and organizing news conferences. The role includes developing communications content, including video editing, running our social media channels, supporting media outreach.
Candidates will be expected to work diligently, produce a high-quality product that meets exacting standards, and seek to enhance the reputation of the Attorney General’s Office as a top law firm in the State of West Virginia.
