Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for engaging diverse audiences? We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer within a central University department. This assignment is due to commence ASAP for 12 weeks in the first instance, on a Full Time basis.
Duties include:
- Deliver aspects of the department's communications strategy professionally.
- Write, edit, and proofread various communications materials for broad audiences.
- Develop and update online communications on intranet, website, and social media channels.
- Plan and organize events aligned with the communications strategy.
- Evaluate communications activities and analyse results for future strategy.
- Oversee production of promotional materials for campaigns and events.
- Engage with stakeholders and provide timely and relevant information.
- Provide tailored communications training and advice to subject matter experts.
- Support and guide less experienced team members, allocating tasks.
- Ensure departmental communications follow University branding guidelines.
- Actively participate in communication networks to share information and promote best practices.
Essential Criteria:
- Extensive communications experience across print, digital, and social media.
- Proven ability in producing effective web content.
- Excellent writing skills with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively.
- Proficiency in computer-based applications, including content management systems.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Professional qualification in public relations or marketing.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Knowledge or interest in the subject area of the department.
