Job description
The purpose of this position is to support and implement the League’s communications strategies. Duties include contributing to content development,
writing and editing for the League’s print and online publications, including websites, social media accounts, magazines, web and email publications, assisting in the
production of marketing collateral and other printed materials, assisting in the production of presentations by other League staff, and other communication duties
as required.
Duties Include:
- Coordinates the content development, writing and editing associated with League online and print publications, including Southern City, League Letter, Legislative Bulletin, website, events, etc. Collaborates with other communications staff for story ideas and interacts with NCLM staff and membership for interviews, etc.
- Assists in the development of marketing materials for League products, events and services. This may include content development, limited graphic design and layout work, but at the direction of the Director. Works across all League departments to achieve desired outcomes.
- Assists with the League’s social media efforts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo and other platforms as directed.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned such as working on assigned teams; researching for other publications/initiatives; working with outside contractors to complete communications tasks, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in in Communications, Journalism, PR, Marketing or related fields.
- Up to 3 years of communications experience.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, attention to detail, and the ability to work as a member of a fast-paced team
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, “drag and drop” mass email software, social media posting software are crucial.
