The safety of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, and every colleague has a unique opportunity to contribute as we help families, businesses and cargo connect around the world.
We are ambitious for our airports, investing in the infrastructure our airports need to grow beyond pre-pandemic levels over the coming years. We are always on the lookout for new ways we can add value for customers as they travel, as well as seeking opportunities to work smarter and collaborate more.
We’re all here on a journey ourselves, striving every day to help make air travel smoother, more seamless, connecting more people and goods with the world. As a team, we recognise the importance of what we do, supporting one another along the way. Together, we are the Journey Makers.
About the role:
The Head of Stakeholder Communications has a key role to play in the delivery of smooth and efficient airport operations across MAG, as well as realisation of our ambitious major investment plans. This function encompasses both “business-as-usual” activities across Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands Airports and strategic projects that are key to the future of our businesses.
In terms of the day-to-day operation of the airports, you will devise, coordinate, and deliver communications to partners, including airlines, ground handling agents, retailers, UK Border Force, and other organisations. In doing so, they will be responsible for ensuring a consistent voice across communications delivered to all organisations involved in airport operations.
The role holder is also the communications lead for the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP) – our £1.3bn programme of investment to unlock the future of the airport - and our project to invest in the future of London Stansted. The role is key to supporting the delivery of these once-in-a-lifetime investments—acting as the conduit between the projects and the wider communications team. They will work with the project directors and team to identify appropriate stakeholders, establish a creative and highly efficient communications plan, develop first-rate communications materials, helping to secure stakeholder buy-in and minimise any operational disruption.
This involves devising messaging and working with other communications functions to coordinate and support their activities – for example, media, social media, people communications.
About you:
You will be experienced in creating and executing communication plans for key strategic projects with demonstrable experience of developing positive working relations with a diverse range of operational and commercial departments.
You will be highly skilled in both written and verbal communication, and can adapt your style when required. We are also looking for someone who has an appreciation of issues with the potential to escalate and can ensure that the communications approach meets the diverse (and sometimes competing) requirements of a range of senior leaders.
What can we offer in return:
Great benefits as you would expect from a business the size of MAG – in the shape of a competitive salary, bonus scheme and benefits package including 11% company contribution pension, 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, free parking, subsidised public transport, and a huge range of company discounts.
Please note, this advert will close Friday 28th July.
