Position Details
- Work within the OFI public relations and communications team to support public relations, communication, and government relations strategies and plans.
- Design and implement visual solutions in line with OFI visual and editorial guidelines, for OFI and its partner organizations from concept to production, including but not limited to brochures, presentations, information sheets, signage, social media graphics, and more.
- Generate, schedule, publish and monitor social media content in line with visual and editorial guidelines. Engage with online community on a factual basis as required.
- Assist in branding of new OFI initiatives and updating brands of existing initiatives as required.
- Liaise with external design agencies and OFI’s website editor as needed.
- Perform other job duties as required.
Infrequent travel locally, nationally, and internationally will be required.
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
- Demonstrated communications design experience, preferably in large, complex organizations.
- Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, design, journalism, or a related field.
- 1+ years’ experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphical editing software.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workloads to meet tight deadlines, while receiving direction and feedback as needed, including ability to quickly pivot to changing priorities and timelines
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience presenting design or communication concepts to decision makers.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity for creativity and innovation; ability to exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and judgment.
- Relationship building, along with superior problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience in digital, environmental, print and or web design.
- Experience in science communication.
- Photography or videography skills.
