About the Role
The Communications Assistant, working directly with the Communications Manager, will undertake a wide range of duties which include elements of photography, audio-visual production, AV support, archiving, and preparing a mixture of internal and external communications and marketing. This is a new and exciting role supporting the expanding communications work of the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences.
The Institute
The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences is a national and international visitor research centre running programmes on selected themes, with applications in a very wide range of societal, scientific and technological areas. The Institute attracts leading scientists, both from the UK and from overseas, to interact on research over extended periods. The work of the Communications Assistant will feed directly into the broad range of activities promoting the work of the Institute which has a worldwide audience.
What you will need
In this role, you will liaise with both the internal operations team and academic programme participants. As well as having excellent written English, you will need good interpersonal skills and be able to work with a wide range of people; Part of this role will involve responding to queries in a customer-service oriented manner. You will have a flexible attitude to work prioritisation in order to respond to the changing daily needs of the Institute. A willingness to learn new skills is also essential, as the Institute is an evolving organisation adapting to the needs of its academic programmes. There is also scope to develop your skills in the areas listed as desirable in the Further Particulars as well as to participate in the wide range of personal and professional development activities offered by the University.
