The FUW Ltd. Group is looking to expand its communications team to meet the growing demand of an ever faster moving communications environment. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic,motivated and driven person with a passion for farming and rural life to join the team at our head office in Aberystwyth.
The Communications Assistant will support the Head of Communications across all their communications and admin needs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to get stuck into a range of tasks to support the team.
Tasks may range from data entry, copywriting and proof-reading, updating our website, posting on social media and events support. The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, a solid grasp of IT and a can-do, positive attitude. This role would suit someone who is very organised and can prioritise and multi-task effectively.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain entry onto the communications career ladder, as you will work in a fast paced newsroom, to tight deadlines with plenty of development opportunities. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to achieve relevant qualifications whilst undertaking the role.
Key responsibilities:
Communications
Support the drafting and editing of communications and marketing materials, including press releases, blog posts and social media content
Assist with developing,editing and promoting communications through a range of appropriate channels
Assist in making sure all communications materials are aligned with brand standards
Support the drafting, design and distribution of policy briefings, reports, press releases and other materials
Support the Head of Communications to implement a comprehensive PR activity programme for the FUW and FUW Insurance Services Ltd.
Support the drafting of internal and external briefing materials for FUW Group officials
Post on social media and monitor analytics in order to drive new opportunities
Provide administrative support to internal teams, to include: keeping track of upcoming activities, liaising with national and local media, arranging media interviews, updating website, maintaining records (paper and digital) and archives
Events:
Support the team at policy launches and other external public affairs events
Support with setting up, and attending key events such as: the Royal Welsh Show, County Shows, Winter Fair and farm visits
Attend FUW standing Committee meetings as and when required
Other;
Plus any other duties as and when required within the communications and occasional marketing remit
Background / Skill set:
Essential: -
Educated to level 3/A level standard
Have an awareness of the best practices of main social media channels
Have excellent written skills in English and Welsh
A strong communicator who can work well independently and as part of a team
Skills in creating and editing content for social and digital media interfaces
An eye for detail and a clear, concise and persuasive writing style
Be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities
Able to work under pressure, while remaining positive, proactive, resourceful, calm, and efficient
Have exceptional organisation and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Have a full, clean driving license
Have functional knowledge of:
- Microsoft office – PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Social media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
Able and prepared to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required
Adopt a positive approach to personal learning and development
Desirable:
Have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and InDesign (training can be provided)
Have previous Office Experience
Have previous experience of events organising

Salary: £22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
