About the role
We're looking for a Communications and Social Media Office to join the BMA Northern Ireland team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is a part time role for 20 hours per week and will involve working one day per week from our Belfast office.
The successful candidate will work as part of a busy communications and public affairs team assisting with the delivery of the BMA Northern Ireland internal and external communications. This includes managing social media accounts, the production of e-newsletters and other member communications to inform and engage doctors on developments and issues affecting all aspects of their working lives, with particular regard to BMA priorities and developments.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience of managing multiple social media accounts for an organisation (essential)
- High level of social media awareness, including knowledge and experience of using different social media platforms and tools
- The ability to create and construct engaging content & social media posts
- Knowledge and understanding of current and upcoming social media trends, user habits, behaviours and metrics analysis.
- Excellent written communications skills
- Excellent news sense and judgement with an up to date understanding of media law
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise effectively
- An interest and understanding of health policy
