We are currently recruiting for a temporary Communications and Social Media Officer for a centrally based Oxford University Department, starting asap on a full-time basis for 12 weeks.
Duties:
- Maintain an up-to-date website, sharing content to engage online visitors, and meeting operational needs of the department.
- Develop unique content (posts, photos, videos, infographics, etc.) and publish on the department’s internal and external communications channels, including print, digital and social media platforms, for example publishing stories featuring recent commercial or research news.
- Coordinate a wide range of marketing activities (online and traditional), to include email and social media campaigns, print and online advertising, events and public relations projects.
- Contribute to the implementation of the department’s communications strategy, for example sharing news on key strategic projects such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund / capital-investment led.
- Act as a central point of contact for colleagues in the department to collaboratively identify opportunities for media stories and/or communications content., ensuring content is to a high standard, accurate and created within a short deadline to ensure its relevance.

Essential Criteria:
- Educated to A-level or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven digital marketing and communications experience, including ability to manage a website.
- Proven experience across major social media platforms, e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Meticulous attention to written detail, consistent with communicating Departmental content.
- Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM software packages.
- Demonstrable experience of communications activities, both print and digital.
